Rates for Registered Psychologists are as follows:
$225 per 50-minute session
$115 per 25-minute session
$340 per 80-minute sessionTime over 15 minutes spent on phone calls, reviewing emails, and listening to voicemails will be billed at a pro-rated session rate.
-
Typically, sessions are 50 minutes in length. Sometimes, an extended 80-minute session is recommended particularly for a joint or family session or for a session targeting trauma processing. Occasionally, a brief consultation session of 25 minutes is arranged as a check-in.
-
If you have extended health insurance, it is likely that you have some coverage for Registered Psychologists’ services. The amount of coverage varies significantly between plans. We recommend that you check the details of your plan coverage to know how much you will be able to fund through your extended health insurance.
Payment is due at the time of service. You will receive a receipt that you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
-
For ICBC claims, we are able to bill directly through the ICBC online portal. When you contact us about services, please provide your claim number and the name of your adjuster. There is a small co-pay for ICBC clients to cover the difference between the ICBC rates and our clinic rates.

Budgeting for all kinds of special expenses is tricky, and therapy is no exception to that. Especially if you don’t have extended health insurance to help cover the cost, therapy is a major investment. It is an investment in yourself (or your loved one), your future, and the kind of person you want to become. Like any major financial commitment (think: paying for your child’s braces or taking on a mortgage!), it takes careful planning to prioritize something of significant value.

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. We know that life is dynamic and sometimes things come up that require a change of scheduling. As a courtesy, we ask you to let us know as far in advance as possible about any changes that you need to make to your schedule so that we can make your appointment time available for someone else.
Our minimum cancellation window is 24 hours prior to your appointment time. Normally, your credit card on file will be charged the full session fee for any cancellations with less than 24-hour notice given. At your provider’s discretion, this may be waived in cases of emergency.
If you are experiencing symptoms of any kind of illness that could be communicable, we ask that your appointment be held virtually rather than in person. Likewise, if your provider is experiencing any such symptoms, they will hold only virtual appointments in order to prevent your exposure.
-
Since your appointment time is reserved for you and the time is dedicated to you, we encourage you to take a deep breath, and come for whatever portion of it that you can still participate in. We would still love to serve you with our full attention for the time that is left. Please let us know if you are running late. We generally wait 15-20 minutes before charging for a no-show appointment.

Appointments are made through our scheduling software, JaneApp:
-
We offer both in-person and virtual sessions. In-person sessions are held in a small clinic location within a residential neighbourhood in Fort Langley, BC. We have a small inside foyer that is stocked with a variety of teas, and a fair-weather outdoor waiting area, but not an ideal space to linger while sessions are in progress. If you come significantly early, have somebody driving you or are dropping your child off, we encourage you to take advantage of the multiple cafes and walking trails in Fort Langley during the session time.
Alternatively, due to distance, preference, or illness, you may be scheduled for a virtual session, which will take place from the comfort of your home environment. If you are not participating from the home address that we have on file for you, please inform your practitioner of your physical location, in case of emergency. If the virtual session gets disconnected for any reason, we will make every attempt to reconnect promptly and may offer a phone session in the case of an internet disruption at the location of either the clinic or client’s home.
-
If you are scheduled for a virtual session, you will receive a video link through JaneApp approximately half an hour before your scheduled appointment time. If you are attending the virtual session from an iOS device, please download the app prior to your scheduled appointment. From a browser, JaneApp is best supported through Google Chrome.
Please make sure that you attend your session from a private and comfortable location that is relatively free from distractions (this may mean that you attend from the protection of your car, but please no driving!). In case of emergency and if the session is disconnected, your provider will want to know your physical address/location at the beginning of each session.

Our hours in the clinic are generally scheduled for client meetings. We do not have regular clinic office or phone hours and do not offer crisis services. In case of any kind of mental health emergency, please call 9-1-1 or a crisis helpline.

Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed for emails. It is thus our policy to not routinely answer any questions about your health or course of treatment by email. If you elect to communicate with us by email at any point, we recommend that the email communication be kept to administrative matters such as scheduling. For clinical concerns, please speak with your provider at your next appointment or leave a confidential voicemail message at 778-807-0140.

Your provider regularly and confidentially consults with the team of Registered Psychologists at Limina Psychology. All information that we have about you and your therapy is strictly confidential. This means that nothing will be disclosed without your written consent, or if the following exceptions to confidentiality apply:
You are a danger to yourself or another person.
We become aware of a child or adult dependent who is a victim of abuse, exploitation, or neglect.
A court of law compels us to disclose information.
Outside of these exceptions, we may only disclose information to others of your choosing with your written request and permission. For example, if you wish for your provider to communicate with another professional (such as your family doctor), we require a written request for the release of information which defines the parameters of what may be disclosed.
-
We advise clients to silence or turn off their phones during sessions. This protects the time and space of the therapy session to be fully for you without distractions. Of course, there are some situations which require you to be reachable in an emergency, and it is your choice. We ask that you do not record any portion of sessions without discussing this first with your provider.

For both psychotherapy and EA self-experience, your provider’s aim is to give you dedicated time and space for what is most important to you during the session. Our aim is likewise to support your growth and development as a person in relation to the challenges and opportunities of your own life. Generally, clients seek psychotherapy services because of a particular theme of suffering. In contrast, EA self-experience is an opportunity given to all EA trainees to explore in more depth the themes of their own biography, present life, and relationships with the support of an EA therapist. Sometimes EA trainees also will benefit from services that are more psychotherapeutic. However, even in the absence of pathology, the aim in EA self-experience is to promote insight, growth, and development in the trainee’s journey.

At Limina Psychology, we provide clinical consultation to other mental health practitioners. This includes what is sometimes called “supervision” for EA trainees. As consultants, we are available to support you as the therapist/clinician to engage deeper case conceptualization, to explore your own countertransference blocks, and to provide clinical resources to aid you in your work. As clinical consultants, we do not take professional or legal responsibility for the services rendered in your practice, we do not own or oversee your client files, and you are ultimately responsible for treatment decisions that you make. In contrast, clinical supervision generally refers to a hierarchical relationship where the ultimate responsibility for a client’s care resides with a supervisor, and the client files belong to the supervisor. This generally happens when the supervisee and supervisor work within the same clinic.
